2 new amazing speakers have joined the line-up!
The last weeks we've released 2 new speakers (and there’s more to come) to From Business to Buttons. Jared Spool is our latest edition to the line-up. For some of you, he’s in no need of a presentation but here it goes.
Founder of UIE
Jared M. Spool is the founder of UIE and co-founder of Center Centre, a user experience design school. He started working in the field of usability and user experience in 1978, before the terms ever were ever associated with computers. He is also known for his extensive writing.
He is the author of Web Usability: A Designer’s Guide and co-author of Web Anatomy: Interaction Design Frameworks that Work.
You’ll also find him as the conference chair and keynote speaker at the annual UI Conference and UX Immersion Conference. This is the first time he’ll speak at From Business to Buttons and we are thrilled to have him.
Working in Berlin
The other speaker we launched is Ame Elliotts. She’s currently working as a Design Director at non-profit Simply Secure, where she cultivates a community of professional designers and developers working on privacy, security, and ethical technology.
Previously, Ame spent eight years at IDEO where she oversaw the Design Research, working with clients as AT&T, Ericsson, Fuji-Xerox, Gannett, HP, and Samsung.
Her talk ”UX Design for Trust: Protecting Privacy in a Connected World” will address a very current challenge in the new GDPR-landscape we all soon wake up to. Her theory is that the traditional approach of treating information security as purely an engineering issue is an inadequate response to the challenges of protecting our personal lives and civil society. User experience design – including interaction design, brand strategy, copywriting, and user research – has an essential part to play in building systems people trust. This presentation highlights emerging challenges and gives practical examples of how user experience design contributes to a more private, secure, transparent, and ethical future.
Early bird ends November 30
Both Jared and Ame will host workshops in connection to the conference. Tickets to the workshops will be released mid November and are sold separately. But the tickets for the main event are available! The Early Bird ticket ends on November 30 so be sure to purchase your tickets before that.
